SIGNIFICANT PLACES
The Pylon, initially representing the "true, the good, and the beautiful," has evolved in its symbolism. While traditionally associated with wisdom, strength, and beauty, representing the essential elements for any significant endeavor, the Pylon has since 1987 come to symbolize
truth, excellence, and wisdom.
Obelisk / Mabini Monument
Inspired by Apolinario Mabini's heritage, Obelisk represents the university's dedication to social justice and high standards of education. PUP's commitment to creating well-rounded people and acting as a lighthouse for the country is symbolized by the university star logo, which adorns the obelisk and represents the institution's key principles of integrity, ingenuity, industry, intelligence, and internationalism.
The Mural Brass Sculpture created by National Artist Eduardo Castrillo in 1974, is a 2.5 x 9.3-meter artwork symbolizing the university's role in national development. It depicts the growth of Filipino youth and their vital role in nation-building, showcasing the university's commitment to educating future leaders who will actively contribute to the country's progress.
