The star in the logo represents the perfection of the human person and the pursuit of truth, while the five concentric circles signify boundless wisdom.

Both the five-pointed star and the five concentric circles symbolize quintessence, reflecting the highest standard of quality and the ultimate example of creation. The two laurel arcs represent excellence and educational quality, highlighting the University's remarkable achievements over more than a century.

The star’s golden yellow color not only reflects the natural hue of a star but also aligns with the traditional colors of the University when paired with the dark maroon background. Meanwhile, the white concentric circles represent purity.

The Obelisk, proudly standing on its foundation, symbolizes the strength of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines as a premier institution of higher learning. It represents the pursuit of educational and moral goals, driven by visionary leadership for the Filipino youth and supported by an efficient system grounded in the principles of public service. 

The Pylon initially represented the ideals of truth, goodness, and beauty.

The triad of pillars also symbolizes wisdom, strength, and beauty, emphasizing the need for wisdom to plan, strength to uphold, and beauty to enhance any significant endeavor.

Since 1987, however, the Pylon has come to embody the values of truth, excellence, and wisdom.
