Welcome to Team Punla
We are pleased to share with you our e-portfolio which aims to provide literature-based lessons that feature aspects of caring for the environment and human responsibility in its conservation. This e-portfolio serves as our final output for our LLE 206 - Development of Instructional Materials in Language and Literacy Education (AY 2021-2022) subject, a graduate class requirement under the language and literacy education program of the University of the Philippines Open University.
Punla is a Tagalog word meaning seedling. The word can also be used as a verb meaning "to sow." The group name was conceived with the purpose of planting seeds of knowledge, skills, and values in our young learners. The name also serves as a metaphor for teaching young learners who are in need of nourishment, care, and protection, just like what a seedling needs in order to grow, flourish, and bear its own fruits someday. Lastly, the name is ultimately aligned to the chosen theme of this learning package, Earth is Our Common Home.
This learning package aims to lead our young learners in their discovery of the wonderful world of reading where they can acquire the knowledge, skills, and values they need in their quest of becoming lifelong learners who are responsible, self-sufficient, capable, resilient, socially aware, and caring individuals who can make a difference in their own lives, the lives of the people surrounding them, the community where they belong, and the world that they live in.
We hope that you can find our learning package useful and worthwhile for your own classroom use.
