Name and History
On December 3, 1994 at Sitio Capilla Mauli, Pulungmasle, Guagua, Pampanga, the Barangay Council headed by Punong Barangay Medardo R. Valencia made a resolution, docketed resolution No. 037-S’94, requesting Dr. Jeremias D. Calagui, Schools Division Superintendent of the Division of Pampanga to help and intercede in behalf of the residents of Pulungmasle for the establishment of Pulungmasle High School.
Resolution No. 236-S-94 was formulated at the Sangguniang Bayan’s Session Hall of the Municipality of Guagua on December 21, 1994 of regular session No. 116 authorizing the mayor to enter into a deed of donation with the Department of Education, Culture and Sports involving the Municipal lot for the NATIVIDAD ANNEX High School in Pulungmasle headed by Vice-Mayor and Presiding Officer Hon. Eduardo P. Santos
Prior to these resolutions the dynamic founder of Pulungmasle High School Punong Barangay Medardo R. Valencia has already prepared steps in order to acquire lot and classroom acquisitions thru a contract – Deed of Absolute Sale the sum of One Hundred Eighty Thousand Pesos ( P 180,000) given to Leonardo P. Songco – Vendor by the Municipality of Guagua represented by Mayor Manuel P. Santiago as vendee on October, 1994 duly signed by both parties.
Resolution No. 031-S-94 of the Barangay Council of Pulungmasle, Guagua, Pampanga held on November 5, 1994 at Pulungmasle states that “ A resolution requesting Hon. Emigdio L Lingad, Congressman, 2nd District of Pampanga, House of Representatives, Batasan Hills, Quezon City for funding allocation for the construction of classroom building of the proposed Pulungmasle High School at Pulungmasle, Guagua, Pampanga.
Tracking back the management and leadership of PHS under the supervision of Mrs. Flordeliza E. Reyes, she sent officers-in charge from Natividad High School namely:
a. Mrs. Carmen R. Layug from 1994-1998
b. Mrs. Nolanda N. Reyes from 1998-1999
c. Mrs. Rodora B. Suarez from 1999-2002
Upon its separation from the Natividad High School, a Principal item given and the following became the administrators:
a. Mr. Miguel Rivera from 2002-2003
b. Mrs. Estrelita N. Baluyut from 2003-2007
c. Ms. Eloisa C. Lusung from 2007-2012
d. Mrs. Rosita C. Medina from 2012-2015

B. COMMUNITY
PULUNGMASLE derived its name from the early settlers’ description of the place, “Pulu” meaning an isolated forest or wilderness, and “Masle” meaning a short-cut pass; thus the name “Pulungmasle”. From then on the barrio was known as such.
Pulungmasle is one of the eleven (11) barangays located in the Pangulo area of Guagua.
It is bounded on the north by Barangay Salu, on the east by Barangay Lambac, and on the southwest by municipality of Floridablanca. It ranks as the biggest in the whole town of Guagua with its total land area of 664.0216 hectares. It lies twelve (12) kilometers away from the town proper. The barrio has six ( 6 ) engulfing Sitios: Tacondo, Talang, Capilla, Ligaya, Duat and Mauli .
The locality is overcastted by agricultural land, that’s why its main occupation is farming. Crops harvested range from fruits to rice and sugarcane. Portions of the town’s supply on rice come from this barrio. Other industries are fishing and business. The commercial establishments are Sukat Hardware, Manalac Concrete Products, Arsudi Hardware, EPL Gasoline Station, Torno Pharmacy, Capati General Merchandising , Ed-Mar Hardware & Construction Supply and Tesorino Purified Water.
Almost each sitio has a public elementary school in its territory. It also has one private secondary school, the Northwestern Academy of Pampanga, founded in May, 1952 by a group of civic-spirited citizens. It also has one public secondary school, the Pulungmasle National High School. It was primarily built to render educational services to residents coming from the northwestern point of the town and to nearby communities of Porac and Floridablanca.
Pulungmasle has been venerated as cradler of little heroines because of the impression it left in the history of Philippine Sports and the pride it gave to Guagua. For four ( 4 ) consecutive years (1994-1997), Guagua won the National Championships in Girls Softball Little League Series and subsequently the Far East representative to World Series. Team members are girls aged 11-12 who come from public schools of Pulungmasle. These little soft belles won the Silver Title in the World Series in 1996 and 1998.
Pulungmasle has a population of approximately 14,198 and the number of households is approximately 5,530. The dialects spoken are Pampango and Tagalog. The dominant religion is Roman Catholic. The rest are members of the Protestant Church and Iglesia ni Kristo.
At present, the Barangay Chairman is Cesario M. Dayrit. The members of the Barangay Council are: Salvador B. Santos Jr., Angelito G. Santos, Prudencio S. Santos, Dante S. Paguio, Rosalyn Y. Rivera, Jose M. Casupanan and Cesario M. Dayrit. The Barangay Secretary is Zorahayda R. Quiamco and the Barangay Treasurer is Iluminada B. Valencia.
