This section is a collection of cool pieces we have owned through the years. Some we are keeping for years to come, some now reside with other collectors.
I will do my best to write down their stories and where they now reside. Enjoy!
Absolutely one of the coolest kits ever! I found this kit in Lexington, KY from a guy who played them out and about for 20 years. He was a fireman and definitely loved these drums, and played them like crazy.
These drums cleaned up well, but the gem here was the 11" drum, I had never owned one before and few have seen them. This kit had very low serial numbers and through loads of research, none of us could find a similar kit anywhere in the world. These may have been Crestar before Tama was sued by Crest and changed the line to Granstar.
These drums now reside with a cool collector up in Indianapolis who plays them frequently and certainly loves them.
These, New Albany, IN 47150
This is by far one of the coolest drum sets I have ever had the priveledge of owning.
I purchased this drum set from a lady in Louisville. She was moving homes and it was her late husbands. Her real estate agent contacted me and asked me what I would be willing to pay for them, I ended up paying $700 because I had no clue if they were worth more or less, I just thought they were cool.
After about 20 hours of work, these drums were amazing! They shined up and cleaned up well. With some research, I found the owner of the shop these were custom purchased at in the 80's, and the story was corroborated by North's son himself.
These drums were the most challenging I have ever shipped. I shipped not only the set, but the custom rack and hardware too, all from Louisville, KY to San Diego, CA and they did arrive safely!
The new owner has been playing them, but is going to raffle them off for a cancer research raffle soon.
(Paired with a cool SQ1 snare because they just looked perfect together.)
This is the most rare piece that has ever come through Pulse Drum Co. This amazing snare drum was made only from July 1924 until April 1925. The engraving pattern makes this piece more rare than many others out there. This design features the original 2-hole lugs, the floral hand engraved pattern, Presto strainer, and Walled Brass rims make this drum very desirable and hard to find.
This piece was acquired close to home in New Albany, IN from the original owners grandson. What an incredible piece!
This drum now resides in a studio in Tx or Ca. The new owner lost most all of their prized posessions in the Californian wild fires of early 2025. He bought mine to replace one he had had for years and said it was the most requested and played snare he has ever had in the studio. I know the new owner will love and care for this drum for years to come!
This was a rare piece produced by Mapex in the late 00's. They have added more variations over the years, but this model being one of the original makes it more valuable.
This drum was purchased in Shelbyville, KY. This drum was one I saw in a catalog when I was about 15 years old, and I absolutely knew I had to own one some day!
This Drum now resides with a Mapex Collector, my friend Bruce, in Louisville.
Bill at Pork Pie has made a name for himself for making top quality instruments and thrones for decades. This is one of the coolest thrones I have ever seen! Red top with waves, Blue sparkle base, and White sparkle stars with infilling stitched all along the side. Strong, sturdy, and smooth functioning base with a wide height range. This is the only Pork Pie throne I have seen with stitching on the side of it. This throne was hardly used at all, as you can see by the condition.
I love the stars and stripes theme here, and as the tag says, this is made an American. I do not know how many of these were made, but it is on the rarer side for sure. .
