I recently downloaded and purchased the puffin browser from the App Store as I'm a tv addict and it was recommended as it's good to use for watching things on. However, upon downloading it I discovered there was an issue with it. A window kept popping up saying "connect to server, portal error, network diagnostics". I then clicked into network diagnostics and went through 3 steps which basically told me everything was okay and to wait a moment and restart the browser again. Which I have done about a billion times and still, no solution. So basically I'm just wondering is there any suggestions or solutions to fix this? Thanks!

I Had this same problem too, all I did to fix it was to go to settings, scroll down on the side bar on the left, to Puffin, then click on that and turn on "Use HTTP tunnel" It worked for me and now my puffin is as good as new!

Basically, incompatibility between a third party web browser to play a third party web game has nothing to do with Apple, the iPad nor iOS. It simply has to do with whatever features and services those third party developers choose to support on whatever platform(s) they decide to develop for.

Puffin Web Browser is a web browser for iPhone and iPad. If you want to move away from Chrome, Firefox, Opera and the others, here's a comprehensive alternative in terms of features, offering tabbed browsing, the option to save to favorites, a download and extensions manager, themes, a gamepad, and much more to help you browse web from your mobile.

Since Apple is removing the Puffin browser in October, we can't play Gardens of Time on the iPad. I would like to know what tablet you suggest. Maybe a Samsung? I can't understand why Apple won't give us a flash player so we can play the game. I'm looking at the options but have no clue since I own all Apple products and haven't paid attention to other tablets.

I wish to play flash content in iPad app so i searched lot then finally i came to know Puffin browser will play flash content. In my app when user tapping a button the app redirected to puffin browser then it will play the flash content. then again if try to re-open my app from puffin browser i could not re-open it.I created URL Scheme for my app. after completion of flash video, i tried to open my app by using myApp:// in puffin browser but it does not re-open my app. if try same way in safari its working. Please help me

The Puffin iOS app used to be a reliable and accessible way of using Flash on your iPhone or iPad. Unfortunately, Puffin no longer works to watch or play Flash media, but you can still use it as a web browser.

Having this effect when streaming videos would be more beneficial. Puffin has some basic features and still functions as a web browser, but today, you'll find plenty of apps that perform better and enjoys regular updates from developers.

I went to use puffin browser in class today to update my google play library and I got this notification. it surprises me that nobody talking about this and it adds fuel to the time to play fair campaign of apples unfair business practises particularly in the App Store, but in this case cornering a app to cease to operate in the App Store. what do you guys think (link attached to the notification I got)

Just an FYI, Puffin is not really a browser per se. Its a remote connection to a cloud computer and is running as sorta a proxy browser more akin to a remote desktop connection. There are privacy and security implications that you will need to consider if you use it.

In 2013, CloudMosa introduced Puffin Academy, a free mobile browser with built-in Adobe Flash for K-12 students, teachers, and parents. However, the iOS version of Puffin Academy was discontinued on July 1, 2019.[21]

In June 2018, CloudMosa announced the release of a separate lightweight browser app for iOS devices, called Puffin Browser Lite, given Puffin Web Browser updates were being rejected by Apple. This lightweight browser app is based on iOS WebKit and does not support Adobe Flash Player.[22]It was later announced that they would be discontinuing the original Puffin Web Browser apps on July 1, 2019 on all iOS devices because of the block on updates, citing Apple's app review guideline 2.5.6. The shutdown was later pushed back to October 1, 2019,[21] and the free version of the original browser app was finally discontinued on November 20, 2019. CloudMosa announced on Facebook that the paid version on iOS, Puffin Browser Pro, would remain available but would no longer be updated.[28]

Puffin Web Browser is the standard Puffin Browser application for Android and formerly iOS. The Puffin web browser on Android includes support for Adobe Flash content and features such as mouse cursor emulation and a virtual gamepad.[38] Users are able to choose where to save a downloaded file - either to users' devices or directly to their storage drive. The web browser also allows users to reduce the amount of data being used, from sources such as Flash games that often consume a lot of data.[39]

Because web pages render through the remote browser in the cloud, user traffic is passed via the Puffin servers. Some users criticize that their personal data such as passwords may be logged by Puffin.[citation needed] However, Puffin's privacy policy states that no web page's content is logged by them and that they do not have access to users' passwords.[40]

Puffin is a cloud browser meaning that they proxy all traffic for the client to the Puffin servers via SSL. You should be able to create a custom App-ID using the hostname of the server cert cloudmosa.com.

Hey Guys.. Got a work around for this. Created a custom URL category and blocked *.cloudmosa.* (the servers in the cloud that puffin uses in the background). and then blocked *.puffinbrowser.*. Add the URL category to a rule and deny the traffic. Simple work around. Nevertheless, this app has been submitted to PAN. Hopefully we get to see it at some point of time.

So thought about running the web ui as a remote control.

On the android device, i found that i can run the gui on chrome (last compatible version is 81), but I cannot run it on fully kiosk browser (which was my initial intention, as it allows full screen) or puffin browser. Fully just shows a white screen, while puffin states that the connection is refused.

The e-Learning industry was built upon Adobe Flash technology.

With the introduction of the iPad, which does not play Flash natively, the e-Learning industry has had to adjust. An interim measure was to recommend the Photon and then the Puffin web browsers to play Flash on iPads. With the advent of HTML5, we no longer need to use Flash workarounds. Any course which has the html5 suffix can be played using a standard web browser on the iPad or iPhone. This does not mean that all web browsers play identically. At this time we strongly recommend using the Google Chrome web browser with our courses on your iPad or iPhone. It is available for free from the App Store. Also, all iPads do not play equally well. Early iPads may play very slowly or not at all. iPad Air devices with google Chrome display quickly.

On my iPad, I can log into Canvas without any problems, but when I try to access information in my classes in "Files" or "Modules" or even the syllabus, it's like the page never loads. I can see the HTML tag is correct, but on my iPad, it doesn't show my files or links or assignments. On my laptop, it works just fine. I've tried four other browsers, so I know it's not related to which browser is used. Does Canvas just hate Apple products or...? Please help.

Note: Although the free Puffin Browser allows users to access any website, this browser may contain contents that are unsuitable for younger students. We highly recommend teachers and parents use Puffin Academy instead.

The local mic input would not be picked up by the remote browser. The app is streaming an interactive remote browser session screen capture to your devices, as rendering the Flash content is done on the cloud servers to get it into iPads in real-time.

Too bad because my old ipad is too slow for anything else, but perfect for Home Assistant as a wall panel. Oh well, I use Tileboard for my iPads now which look nice and is pretty easy to configure (though not as flexible).

Anyways, it will work on older ipads AND have the current interface.

This config on the screenshots is really old and I would not recommend using it as the code is horrible. Though I have some bad news, I do not have the TileBoard config anymore. I have actually tried to search them through my backups, but nowhere to be found. If I do happen to find it again I will send it to you.

With the iOS version of Safari, you can also use third-party ad blockers and tracker blockers, which are not compatible with alternative iOS browsers (although many iOS browsers come with their own built-in ad blocking systems). See this article for more on these types of blockers.

Google Chrome is a popular web browser, and it has about 65% mobile market share worldwide, according to NetMarketShare (presumably, most mobile Chrome users are using Android phones; however, Chrome is available for iOS, too).

Mozilla Firefox is another iOS version of a popular desktop browser. Firefox is cross-platform, available on Mac, Windows, and even Linux, and is run by the non-profit Mozilla Foundation. (Firefox is actually a descendant of the early web browser Netscape Navigator.) The iOS version of Firefox includes ad and tracker blocking, but there is also Firefox Focus, which activates these features by default. ff782bc1db
