ABOUT US
The Philippine Normal University Publication Office is the publishing hub of the University. It highlights the University’s mandate as the National Center for Teacher Education to produce innovative, humane teachers, competent educational leaders and proficient research scholar by publishing academic and trade books and scholarly journals – in both print and electronic editions.
MISSION
The PNU-PO pursues to revitalize the educational mandate of the Philippine Normal University as the National Center for Teacher Education by publishing: (1) specialized and peer reviewed educational research and (2) textbooks and learning materials for undergraduate and graduate courses. These publications are carried out in the spirit of improving scholarship, nurturing scholarly discussions, and inspiring scholarly participation in public fora with the end goal sustaining and spreading the positive attitude towards change in the society. The PNU-PO will ensure to take up the challenge of the 21st century age and engage in the latest technology in the preservation, production, and dissemination of intellectual products.
VISION
The PNU-PO envisions itself as the University Center of knowledge creation, production and dissemination in both the national and international domain through learner’s material, books, and journal publication. It acts as the key channel of ideas reaching out to worldwide readership in the hope that readers will be able to utilize knowledge and ideas on Teacher Education for the betterment of the society in general and the Philippines in particular.
OUR JOURNALS & SERVICES
The Normal Lights (TNL) is a peer-reviewed education and educational innovation and development journal. TNL aims to publish original research papers in the domain of education, which may be but is not limited to, the following areas: teacher education, theories of education, sociology of education, curriculum, assessment, technology, innovations, Action Research, education in the non-formal context, governance in education. Education theories may cover the following sub-fields: scholarship of teaching, learning, and assessment; educational administration and strategy; learning courses; and science and technology education. The journal emphasizes systematic inquiry and bridging the gap between theory and practice in education and different educational systems.

Asia Pacific Higher Education Research Journal (APHERJ) is a bi-annual peer-reviewed journal published by the Philippine Higher Education Research Consortium. It publishes original contributions on diverse topics covering an extensive array of themes. Through its main sections, the journal publishes diverse content that will interest a wide range of readership: education and teacher education, social sciences, governance, educational policy, business education, and STEM. APHERJ provides a forum for disseminating qualitative and quantitative research on theory and instructional model building, product development, policy studies, internationalization, and local responsiveness from different countries and cultures. It aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice by publishing relevant empirical research that contributes to solving higher education problems.

Association of Southeast Asian Teacher Education Network (AsTEN) is an ASEAN network of teacher education institutions that seeks to promote research and publications, scholarship of teaching, teacher education leadership, curriculum and pedagogy, reciprocity programs, quality assurance and harmonization of standards to shape and redefine teacher education in the ASEAN region.
The AsTEN Journal of Teacher Education is AsTEN's flagship publication. It is a peer-refereed journal that serves as the main platform for the Network to engage with the wider academic community. It provides an international scholarly forum for research and ideas on teacher education in Southeast Asia and beyond. The journal is an annual publication that covers an extensive array of relevant and emerging topics and issues in teacher education. It brings to the fore significant findings and contributions on teacher education that will lead to a better understanding of the dynamics of education contexts and empower teacher education institutions.

PRISMA: Gender and Education E-Journal is a peer-reviewed journal by the Philippine Normal University that publishes original contributions on gender studies and its emergent issues. The journal is an annual publication that covers an extensive array of education themes using gender as a lens. It publishes diverse content that will be of interest to a wide range of readership through its five main sections: research articles, article and book reviews, policy briefs, creative works, and translations.
PRISMA provides a unique platform for knowledge sharing regarding, among other topics, pedagogy, curriculum, technology integration, teaching and learning, assessment and evaluation, educational leadership, teacher education – across the lifespan (early childhood care and development, basic education, tertiary, technical and vocational education, family and community, non-formal, informal and lifelong learning).
PNU Online Commons features high quality journals, electronic theses and dissertations, instructional materials, monographs, technical reports and research series as veritable and respectable platforms for knowledge creation, generation, transfer and sustainability. It provides wide readership and maintains research and scholarly network through online commons.
PNU SINAG (Showcasing Interesting and Notable Academic Genres) a program of the Publication Office which aims to communicate and popularize research of faculty, and students of the university and other HEIs. We believe that this project will help you popularize your research to: 1) improve your publication citation, 2) disseminate your generated knowledge, and 3) communicate your research findings.

Student Research and Creative Work Festival is an exciting and enriching event that aims to celebrate and showcase students' exceptional academic achievements and creative endeavors. This festival provides a platform for students to present their research findings, share their innovative ideas, display their artistic creations, and highlight their instructional materials and lesson exemplars.
Best Research Music Award (BRMV) is a competition among authors of scholarly articles published in the three journals managed by the University. Accordingly, a Research Music Video (RMV) is operationally defined as a concept music video that uses the artistry and creativity of the artists/researchers to expand their creative vision of their current publication with a song (Jørgensen, 2022). RMV would typically include the full concept of the published article (in the previous year-2023) in any journals managed by the University, a carefully chosen song, performance, or narrative, and a choice of symbolic and/or thematic type.
