Jack Dumas

Jack Dumas is an American poet, currently residing in Central Texas. He writes an open, generative verse, allowing the breath to guide rhythm and the mind to place rime. His work extends out from attentive encounters with nature, the body, dreams, and literature. Many poems explore interactions between phenomenology, religion, and linguistics. He seeks to write words apt for this present moment in human history—words that give our inner and outer movements a home in the language—wishing every poem to lead readers into the silence that both precedes and follows utterance. The Rope currently hosts his poetry.
