Agrarian Union of Ukraine
PU 'Agrarian Union of Ukraine' (PU AUU) is a non-governmental, self-governing, non-profit organization of Ukrainian agricultural producers doing business in various legal formats. The Agrarian Union of Ukraine has representatives in 24 oblasts of Ukraine and AR Crimea and works for more than 6 500 agrarian enterprises and more than 15 thouthands agrarian activists.
Historically, PU AUU is the successor of the oldest agrarian public organization - Council of Collective Farms of Ukrainian Socialist Soviet Republic established on December 20, 1971. From the very beginning the aim of the organisation was announced as stimulating activity of rural people, keeping discussions on the main problems of social life in rural areas and supporting agrarian professional activity. The organisation was concentrating and spreading experience on agricultural industrial activities.
Now, activity of PU AUU and its regional offices is aimed at:
representing and advocating interests of of PU AUU members in legislative and executive state agencies, firstly in the Verkhovna Rada and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine;
communication and cooperation with agrarian business associations and other public organizations, strengthening profile associations and organizations of agricultural producers, developing self-regulation in agrarian sphere;
providing legal provisions for the activity of PU AUU members;
improving of capacities and financial facilities for agricultural industrial production;
assisting development and strengthening of regional and local agrarian markets;
providing information on situation within agrarian markets, prices for agriculture products and food, oil, fertilizers and other input resources;
creating conditions for profitable sale of agricultural products;
implementation of technical innovations and modern systems of management, firstly for crops and livestock branches;
protecting environment and promoting values of green economy;
promoting necessity to comply with modern domestic and international standards and conformity assessment.
PO 'Analytical Center of Agricultural Union of Ukraine' (PO AC AUU) was founded in June 2012 (since September 2014 separate NGO) with the aim to provide professional assistance for members of PU AUU in their business activity. As well, PO AC AUU specialises in developing and implementing agrarian policy, assisting advocating interests of small and middle agrarian producers in the state agencies and at the international level, supporting positive climate for agricultural activity and innovative development.
According to the Statute PU AUU is ruling by:
the congress - the highest management body authorised to pass the widest range of decisions concerning PU AUU activity, meets once every four years;
the council - the working body authorised to pass current decisions for the range of PU AUU activities, meets twice a year;
the board - the working body authorised to pass decisions for PU AUU internal issues, authorised by the council for every four years;
the head - the authorised person responsible for executing the congress, the council and the board decisions and for representing positions of PU AUU in the governmental and public bodies, elected by the congress for every four years;
the audit commission - controls management and finances of PU AUU, three persons elected by the congress for every four years;
