Pentatonix is an a capella group of five members. The original five were Kirstin Maldonado, Mitch Grassi, Scott Hoying, Kevin Olusola, and Avi Kaplan. However in 2017, Avi Kaplan decided to pursue a solo music career, and Matt Sallee became the new bass for the group. They began to gain recognition when they won the third season of NBC's "The Sing Off" in 2011. Despite immediately getting dropped by their contract, they started a YouTube Channel, which now has over 20 million subscribers. Pentatonix is most well-known for their many Christmas albums, however they have also covered a variety of other songs, mainly pop music, as well as released original songs such as "Happy Now".
Pentatonix went on their first national headlining tour in 2012, about a year after the group's formation. This tour spanned 30 cities. In 2014, they toured across the US, Canada, Europe, and Southeast Asia. Since then, they have made multiple world-wide tours, and continue to do a Christmas tour across the US every year.
