About PTPM
Pathway to Prehealth Mentorship is a nonprofit mentorship dedicated to guiding first-generation, low-income, and minority high school students toward successful careers in the pre-health field. Our mission is to provide mentorship and support, helping these students navigate any and all pre-health fields, while fostering a sense of belonging in the pre-health community.
Our mission is to connect dedicated FIU pre-health students and high school students aspiring to enter the healthcare field. Through our mentorship program, FIU pre-health mentors will provide invaluable guidance, support and resources to help high school students navigate their pre-health journey with confidence. Our initiative aims to ensure that incoming pre-health students are well-equipped to achieve their academic and career goals. By offering personalized mentorship and access to essential resources, we strive to empower the next generation of healthcare leaders.
We are currently seeking motivated and passionate FIU students to become our mentors! Mentors will be guiding high school students on how to start their corresponding pre-health journey. The board will provide you power-points that you can use to mentor your students, that include general information about requirements for the field and resources available in Miami. This is a great chance to receive community service hours and gain leadership experience to add on your resume and/or graduate school application!

5 hours of volunteering will be given for each meeting you have with your mentee. Depending on how many meetings you have during the two month period of the program (April-May).
Volunteering hours via email will be distributed at the end of the program. We will also verify your hours on Give Pulse.
Mentors graduating in Spring 2025 will be eligible to purchase a stole and/or cord.
We will have a LinkedIn set up and you will be able to officially designate yourself as a Mentor on your LinkedIn.
We will post highlights of our mentors on our website to showcase your leadership and participation.

You must be willing to commit for the whole duration of the program, which is Spring-Summer 2025.

This application will be relatively short to complete, it is so we can get to know you. You will be asked to upload your resume and briefly mention your experiences.
The deadline will be Wednesday, March 19 @ 11:59 pm.
