The PTF Workshop will take place on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th July, immediately before the Kyoto 2026 International Combustion Symposium.
PTF will take place at Doshisha University’s Shinmachi Campus in the Rinkokan Building alongside four other workshops Turbulent Non-premixed Flames (TNF), Measurement and Computation of Reacting flows with Carbon Nanoparticles (ISF), Flame Chemistry (FCWS), and Rapid Compression Machine (RCM).
The early-bird registration fee will be $200 USD (Prof/AssistantProf/Industry) and the early career fee will be $150 USD (PhD & Masters Students/PostDocs); these fees will rise by $50 USD after early-bird deadline (June 21st). Registration will close on July 12th; however, on-site registration will be available. Registration fees include attendance, coffee/snacks/lunch (both days), and a reception with light hors d’oeuvres (evening of the 25th). Details about all workshops can be found here. Registration can be found here.
The anticipated content of this year’s PTF workshop is expected to include joint sessions with TNF (i.e. similar to the last workshops in Milan), and separate PTF-focused sessions. We encourage contributions from all areas of turbulent premixed flames, including (but not limited to) hydrogen or hydrogen-blends, turbulent regime diagrams, compressible combustion (e.g. detonations, supersonic combustion, Chapman–Jouguet deflagrations, deflagration-to-detonation transition, etc.), high pressure flames, and turbulent-flame modelling.
Sessions will be structured as in past PTF workshops: individuals will be given ~10 minutes to present on a topic (ideally one separate from their work associated with the primary symposium) and a discussion section will follow. A poster session will be held jointly with the other workshops.
If you and/or your student(s)/postdoc(s) are interested in attending the PTF workshop and/or would like to participate in one or multiple of the above listed sessions, please let us know (via email: ptf.workshop@gmail.com) by June 12th, providing a title/overview of the specific topic you wish to present.
Important dates:
June 12th: expression fo interest to present talk/poster (email title/abstract to ptf.workshop@gmail.com)
June 21st: end of early-bird registration
July 12th: end of online registration
