Bloomverse Welcome Ceremony
Held on 17th September 2025 at the Department of Psychology Auditorium, this ceremony welcomed the incoming 22nd batch of Psychology undergraduates at the University of Peradeniya. The evening was designed as an introductory gathering to foster belonging, connection, and a sense of academic community among new students entering the department.
Mental Health Awareness Session Series
Conducted from 7th to 9th October 2025 across the University of Peradeniya, this awareness series focused on key topics in mental health and psychological wellbeing. The sessions aimed to increase student understanding of common mental health challenges and promote practical strategies for coping and resilience within university life.
Navigating the Storm, Building A Resilient Campus: Program
Held on 10th October 2025 at the Department of Psychology, University of Peradeniya, as part of Mental Health Week, this program featured a guest session by Ms. Namalika Dissanayake, Principal of Blue Rose Special School and Training Center. The session focused on building resilience within academic environments and understanding psychological strength in the face of challenges.
Mental Health Week Post Series
From 11th to 20th October 2025, a digital awareness campaign was conducted to extend Mental Health Week discussions beyond physical sessions. The series shared content on psychological wellbeing, emotional awareness, and mental health education, aiming to reach a wider student and online audience.
Held on 2nd February 2026 at the Department of Psychology, University of Peradeniya, this Human Library-style program brought together distinguished voices in psychology, including Dr. Cynthia de las Fuentes (Former President, American Psychological Association) and Dr. Amanda Clinton (Senior Director, APA Office of International Affairs). The program provided participants with direct engagement with global perspectives in psychology.
Running from 1st January to 30th March 2026, this initiative introduced a department-themed T-shirt designed for Psychology students while also serving as a fundraising project for the society. The project combined student identity building with financial support for future society activities.
Held on 30th March 2025 at the Department of Psychology Auditorium, this movie night created an engaging cinematic experience for university students while also contributing to society fundraising efforts. The event blended entertainment with community engagement within the department.
Conducted on 20th April 2026 at the Department of Psychology Auditorium, this workshop guided students in exploring personal purpose, self-understanding, and gratitude. The program included sessions by Ms. Samadhi Mallawarachchi and Ms. Medinie Jayasiri, focusing on reflective practices and life direction.
Held on 24th April 2026 at the Department of Psychology, this celebration marked the Sinhala and Tamil New Year within the academic community. The event aimed to strengthen cultural connection, student unity, and departmental engagement through traditional activities and celebrations.
Conducted on 5th May 2026 at the WUS Premises, University of Peradeniya, this fundraising stall offered mehndi services to students and visitors. The initiative supported society funding while creating a culturally engaging student activity.

The 21st Century Leadership Skill Development Program, organized by the Psychology Society of the University of Peradeniya, empowered students with essential leadership, communication, and teamwork skills through an interactive workshop conducted by Ms. Sinthuja Shanmuganathan.
