Potency Testing

I offer psilocybin, MDMA, and LSD potency testing to accurately calculate dosing. Here’s why this step is important:

The differences in potency of psilocybin mushrooms range from 0.5-2.5%, occasionally up to 5%. This depends on strains, cultivation, storage, and other factors. This means one batch can be 10 times more potent than another. The quality of the trip has less to do with the strains but more to do with the potency/dosage of psilocybin. Claims like “golden teacher is good for depression; penis envy gives you visions; xyz gives me bad trips, etc.” are unfounded.

In research studies, the dosage of synthetic psilocybin is 10-25mg. This is what we are aiming for. This equals to 1-2.5g of dried mushrooms with 1% average potency. However, with potency being an unpredictable factor, actual dosage can be all over the place. Similarly, one tab of LSD can range from 50-200 microgram. 

If you dose too little, the journey will be underwhelming and not effective. If you dose too much, the journey will be overwhelming and sometimes even cause a blackout. Therefore, accurate dosage is so important but often neglected for risk reduction and therapeutic effectiveness of psilocybin use. 

To conduct the testing, the cost of 1 hour of labour is $100, and the material is $30. This also includes the use of a $450 photometer for accurate potency reading (see the photo below).

This testing can be performed on LSD tabs or drops as well. 

This service requires the sample to be received a week before the journey. If results are needed within 7 days, there's an extra $50 rush fee.
