After this course, the students are expected to:
Know key terms and major contributors to psychological statistics.
Know how to set up and interpret datasets in charts, graphs, and distributions in meaningful ways.
Understand the concepts of central tendency and dispersion, and be able to compute relative statistics.
Understand correlation and other inferential methods covered in this class.
Understand the difference between descriptive and inferential statistics
Be able to do calculations for descriptive and inferential statistics, and test hypotheses using the appropriate inferential distributions and formulae.
Be able to apply the basic methods studied in this class in limited research endeavors. H. Be apprised of the scope and limitations of the various methods discussed in class.
After this course, the students are expected to:
build a knowledge base of historically significant research (“classical studies”) in social psychology.
demonstrate knowledge of basic research methods
utilize critical thinking skills in social psychology
helping students understand scientific writing so that they can competently communicate according to the style of the American Psychological Association

Enumerate the major development in Filipino psychology, its theories and concepts
Compare Filipino psychology with Western psychology and identify the strengths of indigenous psychology.
Describe the research methodology using methods based on Filipino psychology.
Describe the psyche of the Filipino using research data.
Value indigenous methods in the conduct of research
Appreciate the strengths of the Filipino psyche
Interview people living in a rural community on a chosen topic.
