here I will show off my notes and findings for Warriors Orochi 2 that didn't make the cut or where left over.
Q: What and how was this moddable, did you hack your PS2?
A: No, I used PCSX2, an emulator for playing this game on PC. And well, it was quite easy with Cheat Engine Thanks to Micheal of his Dynasty Warriors Discord, he was kind enough to share he findings and notes he has done with this game with me.
Q: Oh my god, so can the AI can be harder then vanilla? They fought like garbage on Warrior Orochi 2 even on Chaos.
A: Simple answer but yes, just like DW5 and SW2 the Character's Array of Byte Values have a "Level" for how hard it can be. I was testing this out when I added the Samurai Warriors Generic Katana Moveset to the game. The Ai managed to use a full combo on me as well as pull off 3 quick charge boosts to themselves.
Q: What about this amazing overhaul patch you where working on? It sounded so awesome!
A: Scrapped due to game data complications. But, I am going to upload my Cheat Table for others to enjoy. What I was trying to do.
Q: What hex Editing or AOB editing, surely that would be an easy way to play as a generic without crashes?
A: Nope and believe me I tired, for some reason when you try to add the cut generic moveset back in the game it will not add it to the officer it will instead place the SW Troop moveset to the DW5 Hero Spear Moveset over it. I have no idea what is causing this besides a bug in the code due to being a rushed title. Changing a musou character to a generic via Array of Bytes editing does not let you play as the changed officer, it is odd I know. But it still loads the character as if nothing changed besides stats.
Q: So I can play as a Generic In Warriors Orochi 2? Awesome!
A: Yes, but. There is a few conditions you must do in order to play as your favorite generic, in order to make it work without crashing, you may still get bugs that happening during cutscenes.
1.: Lock the character level to 98 On the Cheat Table provided.
This maxes them out to have the highest status and other things, upgrade the stats to however high you see fit! So you don't get your butt kicked as a generic.
2: DO NOT SWITCH FOR ANY DUMB REASON!
This will really mess up your modded character to either crash or change to some other bizarre bugged out modded character you didn't have in the first place or a troop.
3: Make sure to give them the right weapon.
By default in the code they are given a bronze spear. This breaks a lot of range on all generic movesets, that use the General Sword or the Naginata.
4: Your stuck Red Color for any generic you choose.
For the life of me I cannot find a way to change the color, it seems locked somehow with no way of changing it.
5: DO NOT TRIPLE ATTACK!
This will begin with funny results until it crashes at the end. :(
