Led by the Healthcare Georgia Foundation, The Two Georgias Initiative (TTGI) is a five-year funding program designed to address health inequities among rural populations. By facilitating statewide coalitions, TTGI supports communities to envision the change they wish to see in their local healthcare systems. Each coalition implements a Community Health Improvement Plan to improve access to quality healthcare and advance health equity in their county.
The Partnership for Southern Equity (PSE) serves as part of the management team for the Two Georgias Initiative and offers technical assistance to the 11 partnering organizations across the state. By facilitating an understanding of health equity and its crucial role in the healthcare system, PSE assists counties implement their self-identified improvement plans.
Partnership for Southern Equity engages participating counties through relationship and coalition building. The first Thursday of every month, PSE hosts Health Equity Office Hours from 9am-10am. The monthly meetings offer counties access to technical resources to further the progress of their implementation plans. PSE also hosts Why Health Equity Matters, individual technical training sessions for each of the partnering organizations.
