HOW TO REACH IIT (BHU) VARANASI
Varanasi is the cultural capital of India and the melting pot of Indian civilization. Varanasi, or Banaras, has a well-developed transport network and is well-connected to all the major Indian cities and states by air, road, and rail.
1) BY AIR: The approachable airport to the city is Babatpur which is approximately 35 km away from IIT(BHU). One can fly directly to Varanasi from cities like Delhi, Agra, Khajuraho, Kolkata, Mumbai, Lucknow, and Bhubaneshwar Airport. The taxi charges from the Airport to the BHU Campus are about INR 800-2000/-.
2) BY Train: Since Varanasi lies in the heartland of the North Indian plains, it is connected to major cities of India via train. There are three railway stations in Varanasi, Banaras Railway Station and Varanasi Cantt. Rly. Station (Junction) and Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Rly. Station.
From Banaras Railway Station (BSBS) to IIT(BHU):
IIT(BHU) Campus is about 5 km. from Banaras Railway Station. Round-the-clock /Auto/Taxi services are available from Banaras Railway Station to IIT(BHU). The tentative charges are for reserve auto, Rs.150-200/-, and for taxi, Rs. 300/- to 350/-
From Varanasi Cantt. Railway Station (BSB) to IIT(BHU):
IIT(BHU) Campus is about 10 km. from Varanasi Cantt. Railway Station. Round the clock, Auto/Taxi services are available from Varanasi Cantt. Station to IIT(BHU). The tentative charges are for reserve auto, Rs.250-300/-, and for taxi, Rs. 400/- to 600/-
From Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Rly. Station to IIT(BHU):
IIT(BHU) Campus is about 20 km. from Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Rly. Station. The Round-the-clock auto/Taxi services are available from Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Rly. Station to IIT(BHU). The tentative charges are for reserve auto INR 450-550/-, and for taxi, INR 800/- to 1000/-
