Who do we envision as users, consumers, target customers, etc?
We are developing this system focused on Togolese farmers, to do so we are in contact with Salma learning the produce he has at his demo farm and the materials available to him. Our goal is to build a system cheap enough to build that within a short time goods can be dehydrated, preventing post harvest losses and opening door to sell both fresh and dried produce. This will allow for dried produce to be sold throughout it's off-season in conjunction with fruits and vegetables that are in season.
Salma
Salma came to us with a problem he hoped to solve, preventing PHL's (post harvest losses). If we are able to construct a viable option to prevent this, he will have gained the ability to preserve his produce. This opens the door to consume or sell produce at a much later date than previously available.
Pete
Regrettably, Pete's already lost our help with the ISEC this quarter, but we hope to construct a product worthy of investing time into once we are gone. We have a global vision as food insecurity and proper food storage is a prominent global issue. We hope our product will open new doors and be expanded upon in future classes, branching to new communities.
Our Team
All that we have to lose is our time, but we have a lot to gain. To be a part of developing a system to positively impact both Salma and the people of Togo is an amazing opportunity.
