🎓 Teaching

Dr. Arif Hussain teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in electrical engineering with an emphasis on power systems, circuit analysis, and modern energy infrastructure. His courses provide students with strong theoretical foundations along with practical engineering applications relevant to real-world power and energy systems.

📘 Courses Taught

ELEN 4813 / ELEN 5573—Power Systems Analysis
This course covers the design and analysis of balanced electric power systems. Topics include power system fundamentals, three-phase circuits, per-unit system, three-winding transformers, transmission line parameters, transmission line steady-state operation, network equations, and load flow (power flow) analysis. The course provides students with the analytical tools required for modern power system planning and operation.

ELET 280—Electric Power I: Industrial Power Distribution
This course provides an introduction to electric power systems, including generation, transmission, and distribution, with a primary focus on industrial power distribution. Students will develop an understanding of AC power analysis, three-phase systems, and transformers, followed by applications in industrial environments.

ELEN 224—Electricall Circuits III
This course focuses on advanced circuit analysis, including magnetically coupled circuits, complex frequency concepts, two-port network analysis, Laplace transforms, and frequency response. It builds analytical skills for modeling and analyzing dynamic electrical systems.
