Welcome to P.S. 152- The School of Science & Technology- Home of the Owls: We are WISE
P.S. 152 is a Pre-K – Grade 5 neighborhood school located in the historic South Midwood section of Brooklyn.
Our current enrollment is approximately 500 students. Our work, as a school community, will be grounded in the Chancellor’s vision for building strong schools: the Framework for Great Schools. The framework stresses six critical components of high-achieving schools: rigorous instruction, supportive environment, collaborative teachers, effective school leadership, strong family ties, and trust. Additionally, our Instructional Focus for the 2024-2025 school year is to unpack the Next Generation Learning Standards (NGLS), the Culturally Responsive-Sustaining Education (CRSE) Framework, and conduct a thoughtful analysis of data to drive instruction and raise the level of academic rigor, in order for students to be engaged in rigorous, relevant, high-quality instruction that strengthens the instructional core and promotes student agency specifically incorporating practices of the Science of Reading into early literacy.
Through the collective effort, hard work, determination, and commitment from the entire school community, we will further our children’s successes.
At PS 152 School of Science & Technology, our mission is to empower all of our students to respect each other and succeed in all academic and social-emotional areas. Through equitable and rigorous instruction and a diverse and inclusive environment, all students at PS 152 will work to their full potential to become leaders and lifelong learners.
At PS 152 School and Science & Technology, our vision is for each child to develop a curiosity of learning, discover their interests, grow in their love of learning, and build their emotional, social, and physical well-being in a safe and nurturing learning environment. Through ongoing professional learning opportunities, we will continue to strengthen and integrate culturally responsive and social emotional learning in all classrooms. Together, with the parents and community, all of our students will become lifelong learners and practice respect, tolerance, inclusion, and excellence in preparation for their future.
