Rutgers and Community Pride

Commitment to Shared Decision-Making, Governance, and Leadership

As a strong believer in shared decision-making and governance, I've participated on NIH and US Department of Health and Human Services Scientific Review Panels.

I was the Chair of the Rutgers School of Health Professions faculty from 2018-2020, and served many years of elected service as a Rutgers Senator and RBHS Faculty Council member.

I was nominated and selected to participate in the Higher Education Leadership Development Program (2019 graduate) and the RBHS Academic Leadership Program (2019-2020)

Commitment to Rutgers and the Community

I participated in training to become a Crises Response Advocate for the Rutgers Office for Violence Prevention and Victim Assistance (VPVA) in 2019 and volunteer in this capacity for VPVA one Saturday per month. I do this because I want to contribute to the Rutgers mission in a way that may help the victim heal and continue on with a successful academic plan.

Since much of my career has been in Newark, NJ, including home visits for the tube feeding management of children living with HIV, I am committed to this community and serve on the City of Newark Food Policy Council. I also actively participate with the NJ Special Olympics and provide nutrition counseling on a volunteer basis.
