主顧聖母堂是由洪清安建築師所設計，主要靈感有四：

【擁抱世界、萬眾合一】

教堂內部以弧型牆版，向四面包覆圍塑成一個禮儀空間，屋頂十字玻璃透射出不同角度的陽光變化，告訴我們世界運轉的存在，萬眾合一，讚美造物主。

1. Architect Andrew Ching-An Houng, who designed the chapel derived his inspirations from four different sources:

In the interior of the chapel is a liturgical space formed by an arc-shaped wall plate that is wrapped around the four sides of the area. There is a variety of sunlight from different angles streaming in through the cross-shaped glass on the roof that expresses the operation of the world where all the people are interconnected and unite as one to praise our Creator.

【本土意象】

教堂外部設計靈感取自竹子、竹筍。竹子的中空，象徵「謙虛」；竹子有節，象徵「氣節」。筍殼，象徵「心靈重生」，每片筍殼能獨立站立，筍殼互相包覆、包容。而竹筍的弧形彎曲角度亦是向陽的自然角度，很優美，展現天主創造之美好。

2. The exterior design of the chapel is inspired by bamboo and bamboo shoots. The hollowness of bamboo symbolizes "modesty", and its joints symbolize “moral integrity” while the bamboo shoot shell represents "spiritual rebirth." All the shells cover each other while standing independently and with an elegant curved angle towards the sun, the bamboo shoot shows the great beauty of God’s creation.

【平面造型意象】

教堂俯瞰造型取自「魚」的意象，緣於聖經所記述耶穌所行的「五餅二魚」奇蹟。

3. The plan view of the chapel shows an image of a “fish”, derived from the miracle of Jesus, known as “the multiplication of 5 loaves and 2 fish”, that fed 5,000 people as described vividly in the Bible.

從校園高處俯瞰，靜宜大學大門到主顧聖母堂是一條筆直的路徑。耶穌說：「我是道路、真理及生命」（若十四6）這是一條正直的道路，直通教堂，象徵永生幸福之路。

4. The view from the top overlooking the campus, shows a straight line from the entrance of Providence University to Our Lady of Providence Chapel that reminds us of what Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). This straight line symbolizes the righteous road, going up all the way to the chapel to find eternal happiness.
