Congratulations Dr. Mani Gupta

We are thrilled to announce that Mani Gupta has successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis on September 9, 2025. His defense was examined by Dr. Amit Ghosh (IIT Kharagpur), who served as the external examiner.

We are delighted to share that Mani Gupta, a final-year Ph.D. student from our lab, was invited to deliver a talk and also presented a poster at the Gordon Research Conference on Synthetic Biology 2025, Newry, Maine, USA.

Mani’s participation at this prestigious international conference was supported through multiple competitive fellowships. He was awarded the IUBMB Travel Award, the Biochemical Society Travel Award, and the DBT CTEP Travel Award to attend and present his research. This recognition highlights both the global relevance of his work and his growing contributions to the field of synthetic biology.

Mani Gupta, a final-year Ph.D. student from our lab, gave a flash talk and presented a poster at Metabolic Engineering 16 (ME16) in Copenhagen, Denmark. He received International Metabolic Engineering Society (IMES) travel grant of $1000.

Mani Gupta, a final-year Ph.D. student from our lab, received the Best Judge Award at the iGEM Grand Jamboree in Paris from 22nd to 26th October 2024 in the Remote Veteran category. He has been judging the iGEM competition for the past three years.

Congratulations Sneha

Ms. Sneha Sahu, an IPhD student in our lab, received the prestigious Carl Storm International Diversity Fellowship and the CSIR Travel Grant to attend the GRC "Addressing Challenges in Sustainable Chemistry With Biocatalysis 2024" in Southern New Hampshire, USA from July 7-12, 2024. The conference focused on cutting-edge topics, including computational approaches and machine learning tools for biocatalyst design and mechanistic understanding. Ms. Sneha Sahu presented her combined in silico and experimental approach to protein engineering.
