Protect Bath Riverside

How to Object to Licence Application and Planning Application for Royal View

Project mission

A Planning Application and Licence application has been made to turn the ground floor of Royal View into a Bar with Live Music all day every day and it is our belief that this will not be in the best interests of Bath Riverside residents but time is limited to object to both proposals.  Objections must be received by the 24th August 2023.  Know nothing about this application? You are not alone as only one small notice has been put up in the window of the property in Royal View, hence this site and notices and leaflets being delivered around the Development.

😀WE WON😀

The applicant has withdrawn his licencing application for the “Dripping Tap”.  I think that once he saw the numbers of objectors and the fact that we were going to be professionally represented he decided to withdraw so a big thankyou for all those who joined the cause.  For those who kindly offered donations we are yet to see what if anything the solicitor will charge (if anything) but if we can still count on you to underwrite the costs incurred?

Of course the applicant can reapply at any time and we hope he has not gone away to regroup but we will be waiting !!! I think that we need to keep pressure on Pinnacle and the Management Agents to clarify their position and our rights to determine what a suitable occupant is for the space.  I believe the Dentist is still currently going ahead but leases and rights do need clarifying for the sake of all leaseholders & Owners.  I would encourage those who were suitably motivated by this single issue campaign to join the Riverside Community Voice and actively take part to improve the Community.

Obviously for those with ward wide issues I commend June Player (email address above) who has supported us and keeps us updated on local issues via email.  If you are not on her mailing list you are missing out !!

I would also like to thank Lindsay Bray as a co-conspirator to this action and to the forbearance of Caroline (Ian) and Sue (Lindsay) our respective wives, who have lost us for the last three weeks whilst we have taken up the mantle!!!

The Licence Application

Details & how to object to Licence Application

This is primarily for licence for the sale of Alcohol and Music (both Live and recorded) but we do not believe impact can be adequately managed.

The Planning Application

Details & how to object to Planning Application

This is the Planning application for use as a Bar but they have not disclosed it will be used for live music upto 7 days a week or is a suitable venue

We recommend you object to both applications but unfortunately they have to be made to different parts of the Council.  For ease we have completed filled in examples for each at the links below.  These need to be downloaded to your device and completed with your details and emailed to the relevant contacts. This this takes 5 mins on a computer, it is possible but a little more fiddly on a mobile

Alternatively click on the links above to the relevant sections to review the complete applications, more information and make more detailed comments if you so wish
