Lexi Fosburgh is a senior at Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School in New Ulm.  She

began studying piano under Dr. Bethel Balge at age ten.

Lexi is a seven-time qualifier for the Minnesota Music Teachers Association Honors

Concert, and has been a finalist for the MMTA Junior Young Artist Competition.  She

has been selected as the winner of the Bernice Jones Piano Festival for her age group

each of the past five years. Other piano events include the Thursday Musical Young

Artist Scholarship Competition, Schubert Club Scholarship Competition, and the Bunny

Just Piano Festival.

In addition to participating in various formal performances, Lexi enjoys accompanying

her high school choir, serving as the evening worship music facilitator at Mt. Olive

Lutheran Church in Mankato, and being involved in a variety of recitals throughout the

school year.  Other interests include track and field, weightlifting/training, and spending

time with friends and family.

Madeline Halvorson is a seventeen-year-old violinist from Mankato,

Minnesota. At age eight she began her violin studies with Patti Tryhus, and later

received instruction from Marilyn Bos. She currently studies with Peter McGuire,

principal second violin with the Minnesota Orchestra.

Madeline served as concertmaster of the Mankato Area Youth Symphony

as a freshman and sophomore, and currently plays with the Greater Twin Cities

Youth Symphony’s pre-professional orchestra. A lover of chamber music, she

formed and lead a string quartet with peers from the Mankato area. She attended

Stringwood Summer Chamber Music Festival as a freshman and sophomore and

was also selected to participate in the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra Chamber

Music Institute with SPCO bassist Zachary Cohen as mentor. Additionally, she

performs as a soloist regularly with the Bethany Chamber Orchestra and

frequently plays for recitals, theater productions, and other events at Bethany

Lutheran College.

In addition to violin, Madeline enjoys dancing classical ballet, hiking, and playing folk music with her family.

Daniel Knapp is a young and upcoming cellist from Shoreview, Minnesota. He currently studies in the Twin Cities with Kathe Jarka.

In addition he studies chamber music with the Artaria String Quartet. In his fifteen years of playing cello, he has played in the Minnesota Youth Symphonies for eight. This past year, Knapp traveled with his school to Europe where they played many concerts in Prague, Vienna, and around the Czech Republic. He has played in numerous chamber music groups including an award-winning string trio and string quartet, along with a viola quintet, numerous other string quartets, and a duet with his twin sister, Amina. As a student, Knapp has attended the Stringwood Summer Festival for 3 years, where he studied with world class musicians such as Geoff Nuttall, Normal Fischer, Jean-Michel Fonteneau, and members of the Artaria String Quartet. He has also attended the International Cello Institute where he played in masterclasses with Paul Kosower, Tony Ross, Emmanuel Feldman, Astrid Schween, and Brannon Cho.

Knapp is a current student at Mounds View High School, and is planning on majoring in cello performance in college. In his free time, he enjoys hanging out with friends and family, traveling, and playing with his cat Mitri.
