“Captivating; An Exceptionally Cultivated Sound; A Compelling Experience; Breathtaking”

These are a few phrases and adjectives used by the press to describe the performers in Mankato’s new chamber music festival, ProMusica Minnesota. The festival, under the artistic direction of Bethel Balge and Peter McGuire, brings together ten performers in a series of four concerts from May 31 through June 4, 2020.

ProMusica Minnesota concerts will feature some of the most stirring and intimate chamber music, including works of Mendelssohn, Beethoven, Grieg and Piazzolla. Bethel Balge, piano, and Peter McGuire, violin, will perform the festival opener program in addition to their roles as artistic directors of the festival. In the course of the festival they will be joined by Leonardo Altino, cello, Anne Ainomäe, viola, Silver Ainomäe, cello, and Colin McGuire, violin .

The concerts will take place in Trinity Chapel on the campus of Bethany Lutheran College, May 31 at 3 p.m., June 3 and 4 at 7:00 p.m. An additional free concert on June 2 at 7 p.m. will highlight young artists from the city and region. Lexi Fosburgh, piano, Madeline Halvorson, violin, and Daniel Knapp, cello, will display their youthful expertise in this inspiring concert that will be rich in optimism for our musical future!
