PhD, Complex Dynamical Systems
I am working at the intersection of neural, cognitive and behavioral phenomena at the Decision Lab at IIT Kanpur.
I completed my doctoral studies (MS-PhD Physics) at IISER, Mohali, in the domain of complex dynamical systems.
I was a postdoc at IPR, Gandhinagar, working on simulations of spatially extended excitable systems.
Cellular automata models are a great way to understand collective emergent phenomena. If the system can be expressed as coupled dynamical units evolving in discrete space and time, CA models are a perfect fit. Here's a brief presentation on CA in general. The final section covers the Greenberg-Hastings model of a spatially extended excitable medium. I've used this model to study dynamical aspects of a general epidemic processes.
