DECISION LAB

At the Decision Lab we are interested in understanding the brain mechanisms that enable the decisions we make every day. To take a peek at the brain in action during decision making, we utilize a multitude of tools: EEG, eye tracking, pupillometry in humans; multi-channel neurophysiology in nonhuman primates. By examining the brain, we eventually hope to determine how reward, effort, and time costs are computed to enable decisions that serve our needs.

We are also interested in understanding how factors like stress, fatigue and distress can affect these computations. These studies may assist in determining biomarkers of suboptimal decision-making -- especially when suffering from mental health conditions like anxiety and depression. Such biomarkers could aid early diagnosis and help monitor treatment progress.

What's New at our Lab?

Sponsored by ICMR, with the support of  UpsideDown labs, we are developing and testing an indigenous bioamplifier for EEG.

We have been selected by ICMR to showcase our wearable EEG  device at India MedTech Expo 2023, held at Gandhinagar, Gujarat from 17 - 19 August, 2023.
