Garima attended a hands-on workshop held at the Allen Institute for Brain Science in Seattle (July 9–11), where participants were trained in large-scale in vivo physiology data collection. The program covered the complete experimental pipeline—from surgical preparation and behavioral training to neural recordings—and included sessions on accessing and analyzing datasets from the Allen Brain Observatory and the OpenScope program.
We had an exciting and enriching experience at the Brain, Computation & Learning workshop at IISc Bangalore!
Arjun helped organize and delivered a talk, while Adithya, Ayan, Chetan, and Rakshita actively participated and contributed to the event’s success.
Overall, it was a fantastic week of learning, exchanging ideas, and reconnecting with former lab members.
Congratulations to Hera for successfully defending her MTech thesis!
Rakshita gave a talk at the EMBO Workshop on Neuroscience of Sleep at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
She received a travel grant from EMBO to support her trip.
Arjun gave a talk at the Decisions, Games & Evolution workshop on 11th March held at the International Centre for Theoretical Sciences (ICTS), Bangalore!

Here's to many more brews and breakthroughs!
Another year, another set of conquerors from the lab!
Shruti took the stage with a talk, and Adithya presented a poster at ACCS XI, held at IIT Bombay.
Organized by Arjun, this workshop supported by IIT Kanpur and Rice University, brought together experts to discuss neurotechnology advancements for neurological and psychiatric care. Garima, Peeusa, Kshitij and Subham presented posters.
The event emphasized scalable, cost-effective solutions, including brain implants, neuromodulation, and brain-machine interfaces!
In its second year, the Indian Judgment and Decision Making Conference took place at IIT Mandi, co-organized by Dr. Varun Dutt, Dr. Arjun Ramakrishnan, and Dr. Sumitava Mukherjee.
Arjun gave a talk, while Priyanshu and Shruti presented their work, all against the stunning backdrop of the mountains!
The scenery was so inspiring that they ventured on a morning trek the next day and even made some new friends along the way.
Before beginning their PhD journeys, Chetan and Rakshita had the opportunity to present posters showcasing their Master's research at the Cognitive Computational Neuroscience (CCN) Conference held at MIT in Boston, USA.
Their trip to CCN was fully supported by Emergent Ventures!
Peeusa presented a poster based on her PhD thesis work, supported by DBT Wellcome Trust IA, at the Federation of European Neuroscience Society (FENS) Forum held at Vienna, Austria.
Research and Fellowship Achievements, May'24!
Dr. Garima Chauhan, Institute Post-Doctoral Fellow, has been awarded the DST INSPIRE faculty fellowship.
Harsh Arora, PhD student, was awarded the Rooma & Ajay Dubey Healthcare Innovation and Ideation (HII) Fellowship.
Great going, Decision Lab folks!
Arjun was invited to give a talk, with Promit and Subham presenting their posters at InterfaceRice 2024 held at Rice University in Houston, Texas, USA.
Congratulations to Rakshita for successfully defending her MSR Thesis!
Ayan, Adithya, Peeusa and Arjun traveled to CBCS, Allahabad, with their eye tracking device!
