How do I clean the Promethean panel?
In today's world, it's important to not only wipe off your panel with a microfiber cloth, but also to clean it. This article details how to clean your panel.
Can Promethean panels be plugged into a surge protector or do they have to be plugged directly into the wall?
Yes! This is optimal as it would give extra protection from power surges.
Can I turn off the touch sounds on the panel?
You can, go to Locker or Applications menu > Settings > Audio > Touch Sounds and toggle off.
Is there a way to safely eject a flash drive from the panel?
Go to the locker > files > select the flash drive > go to the menu (the three dots in the top right corner) > Storage Settings > you will get an eject option at the bottom of the screen.
Will I damage the panel if I unplug it and move it around the room?
Absolutely not, we encourage you to move the panel anywhere in your classroom. All you need is an outlet.
How do I enable "touchback" when I am using screen share?
If you are using the teacher device, make sure that you have downloaded the sender software from the Software Center or are using "wifi Direct" by simultaneously hitting the windows + k keys on the keyboard. You cannot enable touchback from the Chrome Extension. On the sender software or wifi Direct, you simply select the checkbox.
Who do we contact if a panel is damaged?
Notify your TST and they will enter a ChangeGear ticket.
Can I connect a document camera?
Yes, you can. However, not all document cameras are supported without adding an app. You can try to connect via HDMI and then switch the source or connect via USB and then open the camera app.
Can teachers connect to Google Drive? Is there an App or shortcut?
Yes, teachers can Cloud Connect to their Google Drive by selecting the cloud in the locker or applications menu. This allows them to save files directly to their drive. However, for the best experience opening files we recommend logging into Google Drive via Chromium. Once logged in you can select the menu in Chromium (three dots) and then select "Add to Home Screen" to create a shortcut in the locker or applications menu.
How can I save Whiteboard Files?
At the top of the Whiteboard app click on the three dots to save. You can save to the internal storage on the board, an external flash drive that is plugged in, or Google Drive/One Drive if you have Cloud Connected.
