In 2019, Christi Riggs was substitute teaching and overheard some girls talking about how one could not afford a prom dress and was sad about not being able to attend prom. After some further questions, Christi found out there was not an organization closer than 2 hours that helps provide low cost/free dresses. Christi took the situation to my social media page and within a day had a dress, shoes and jewelry for the young lady. Christy knew this young lady was not the only one and knew she could do more.
Alex and Averie 2022
What began as Christi asking for donations over social media and from the local high school grew tremendously. We were set to launch in 2020 and had about 150 dresses in less than a year. Since there was not a prom that year, the inventory continued to grow. By 2021 prom season we had about 300 dresses and were able to give away 25 dresses representing 8 school districts. The donations continued in and by the 2022 season, we had over 500 dresses. We were able to give away 41 dresses that year representing 8 school districts. The number of girls served continues to grow yearly!
