Monika Verma is an MSCA-CZ postdoctoral fellow at the Myanmar Studies Center, Department of Asian Studies, Palacký University in Olomouc, Czech Republic. She holds a Ph.D. from the Institute of Social Research and Cultural Studies at National Yang-Ming Chiao Tung University, Taiwan. Her research has been published in prominent peer-reviewed journals, including Oxford University Press, Routledge, the International Journal of Population Studies, Innovation in the Social Sciences, and Asia Review (아시아리뷰). Monika's research focuses on refugees and forced migration in South Asia, with her current MSCA-CZ postdoctoral project examining the securitization of migration in the region and its effects on Rohingya refugees. She has conducted extensive fieldwork with refugee communities in India and Bangladesh, examining the lived realities of digital exclusion and surveillance. Her research contributes to critical studies of migration, digital infrastructures, and postcolonial governance in contemporary Asia.
