My name is Ananya Malde and I am a 14 year old student in NPS INR Bangalore. I am charismatic and enthusiastic about making an impact on society. Through the guidance of the 1M1B Future Leaders Program, I have founded Project Pragati.

Seeing the ever-deteriorating condition of women and girls in society, I was compelled to help them in any way I could. I have always been very passionate about women's rights, and gender equality in society. As the position of women in society, not only in India, but all over the world, worsened; sitting back and doing nothing was no longer an option.

Through this project, I aim to keep girls in school, and ensure a bright future for them. The conception that the man is the patriarchal figure in a household has to be changed. And this can only be done if a girl receives a good education.

Menstrual awareness, health and hygiene is a basic neccesity, and no girl should ever be deprived of it.

Project Pragati is only just getting started, and I believe it has tremendous scope, because for every girl I educate, one future family is empowered.
