OUR STORY

23 Million. That is the number of girls in India every year, who have to forgo their education, just because of their period.

I was apalled when I learnt this. So, I started Project Pragati, to try and improve the lifestyles of these girls. Project Pragati is passionate about breaking this chain of illiteracy and poverty, by spreading awareness and education about menstruation, as well as funding and providing young girls with the required sanitary needs. Additionally, we also promote and support sustaniable menstrual products.

WHERE WE ARE TODAY

Till date, I have conducted 4 awareness sessions in local schools in Gujarat. While menstrual educational material is available in English and various such languages, it is not available in Gujarati and other local languages. So, I desinged a curriculum in Gujarati, which I am using to educate these girls. The response from these sessions has been overwhelmingly positive, and extremely heartwarming.

Additionally, I have also distributed over 1100 compostable sanitary napkins to these girls, which will help them lead a more cofortable and dignified lifestyle. We will be continuing to support their needs in the foreseeable future.
