My name is Kamali McElroy and I am a 14 year old Black queer artist from New Orleans Louisiana. I usually do my art works in the, pen, pencil, gouache, or digital mediums. The focal point of all of my most recent works has been Blackness and queerness, and how they both come in different shapes and sizes. The main way I express that through my art is with figure and silhouette. When I do this art it works as a form of coping and calmness, but also as a form of fun and activeness. This piece, specifically, is about life as a young person and the judgment I and many others face as young people.
