This project is heavily focused on the aspect of writing original music on an individual level. It has been especially enlightening to interview diffrent musicians on what their process is to write original music. It taught me that i myself prefer writing with people in the room rather than being on your own on a laptop dragging and clicking midi points to specific places. Although i feel like it would still be good to develop a writing process, as it makes things easier and your less likely to do what i did and leave everything to the last moment.
For my songwriting process i used a DAW. (Digital audio workstation) With it i brought a drum plugin called GETGOODDRUMS metal pack. the drums sounds are amazing, there are a lot of diffrent ways to change the kit to how you like it, and its only from the best so you can guarantee it will be very polished.
For ideas i used my phone to record videos and voice memos in the hopes of making sections for songs. This helped a lot and i managed to find inspiration for the start of a song. Although this process was extremely difficult for me to concentrate on so it is lacking what i think would be better.
I have developed my sound engineering techniques a lot throughout this term. Through a lot of my own study's and just trying stuff out. Ive gone through multiple variations of drums micing, one of my most successful tests was the 3rd try on week 3. I call it the Rudy way. (Alex Rundinger) I also Developed it through helping other people mix their drums, such as Issac's band @toker.uk. By implementing what i learned throughout production.

The final college gig of the term. Certainly a night to remember. Every band who performed that night was at their best. and what was so great was how everybody supported each other which made the atmosphere really energetic and buzzing. Our band went on last and so there was plenty of time to get nervous, but I felt that we had rehearsed well enough.
As went on there was some time spent setting up with our equipment and I was worried about making sure my drums and cymbals were in optimal position. We played three tracks all original and all collaborative so we all knew them well.
I think we performed with a high caliber of energy and tightness between the band members which was there because we had worked so hard together. I felt we all knew exactly what to do, and what was even better was the reaction of the crowd. It seemed to feed us just as much as we were feeding them. There were a minimal amount of slip ups, but apart from them we had performed to our best.
