If you would like to learn programming concepts by developing your own game, join us at our Spring into Python Game Design Workshop! Learn advanced Python concepts through a fun game-developing experience. Using the Pygame module, develop the popular game “Flappy Bird” with the guidance of mentors Avyukth Nilajagi and Kanussh Jain. While Flappy Bird may seem like a simple game at first glance, there are a lot of inner-workings that beginners to python can learn various skills from. We hope you join us and have fun!
Students will gain an understanding of basic object-oriented programming, and the mathematics behind game development. While other online courses may move extremely fast and just spew out information, we take a project-based learning approach. Our goal is to teach students how to program a game by themselves, not show how we do it. This will give students the resources and knowledge to learn more about python and code their own projects, as well as enable students to gain experience and interest in programming.
This course is geared towards 9-16 year-olds with intermediate to no experience in programming.
