I chose this statistic because it shows how common social media is around the world. It relates to me because I also use social media every day to stay connected and learn new things. It made me realize I’m part of a much larger global community.
For this project, I delved into the ways social media influences both my personal life and society at large. I explored how platforms like Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook shape the way we communicate, interact, and perceive the world around us.
After taking the "AM I ADDICTED TO SOCIAL MEDIA?" QUIZ, I realized that I have healthy relationship with social media!
The results stated,
Congratulations! Psychologists estimate that as many as 5 to 10% of Americans meet the criteria for social media addiction today. But luckily, that's not you! Not checking social media every few minutes doesn't make you feel anxious, as you prefer to live in the moment rather than through your apps. You use social media to your advantage, at work and to connect with friends and family, but you know when to put it away. Keep it up!
I really proud of result, as it shows that I've managed to develop a healthy balance with social media. I don't feel; the need to check it constantly, and I prefer to stay present in the moment rather than getting caught up in my apps.
Over 4.7 billion people worldwide are active social media users, which is more than 60% of the global population. This shows how integral social media has become in our daily lives, with platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok connecting people across different cultures and regions. I chose this statistic because it shows how common social media is around the world. It relates to me because I also use social media every day to stay connected and learn new things. It made me realize I’m part of a much larger global community.
In my opinion, social media has a big impact on society. It helps people connect with others around the world, share ideas, and stay updated on news. On the positive side, it gives people a platform to express themselves and raise awareness about important issues. However, it also has its downsides, like making some people feel isolated or anxious, especially when they compare themselves to others online. Social media can also spread false information or create divisions among people. Overall, while social media has many benefits, I think it’s important for everyone to use it wisely and not let it affect their mental health or relationships.
From this project, I learned how important it is to balance social media use in our lives. I realized that while social media can be a useful tool for staying connected and informed, it’s essential to use it mindfully and avoid letting it take over. I also learned how social media affects not only individuals but society as a whole, and how we can make better choices in how we engage with it.
