How to predict your grade in Canvas before the end of class.
Log into Canvas from a computer.
Click on the link to the left of your computer screen that says grades in your navigation bar for our class.
You would scroll down to the first future assignment that you have not completed yet.
You enter in the hypothetical grade that you think you will get for the future assignment. Click on link below for a visual screen shot example.
For example, if you have a 5 point homework assignment coming up due then you would hopefully enter 5 because you expect to get full credit on your work.
For major assignments you can again enter in the grade that you think you would get and if you follow all instructions and do the assignment correctly, then you should earn full credit.
So you can continue to enter in all the future assignment points for the semester.
Then scroll down to the bottom to see what your hypothetical grade would be.
Keep in mind that the syllabus states that the class is out of 500 points so you divide the top number (numerator) by the bottom number (denominator) to calculate your grade letter in the course.
This should help you rest assured that you can still pass the class as long as you continue to consistently turn in work and follow instructions throughout the semester.
In the unfortunate event that your grade falls too far below and you are contemplating dropping the class, I always recommend speaking with Holly Schumacher the financial aid counselor to ensure that your financial aid eligibility won’t be affected if you choose to drop with a W. Having too many W’s can result in becoming ineligible for financial aid the following semester.
