2001–2007: Studied physics at Universidad Simón Bolívar (USB) in Caracas, Venezuela. For the 5th-year bachelor thesis, I went to Mérida (in the Venezuelan Andes) to work at Centro de Investigaciones de Astronomía (CIDA) with Dr. A. Katherina Vivas.
2007: Studentship at NASA - Goddard Space Flight Center to work for the summer with Dr. Steve Kraemer.
2007–2011: PhD at the University of Nottingham with Prof. Alfonso Aragón-Salamanca. Spent a year in Germany working with Dr. Harald Kuntschner at ESO-Garching (under the ESO Studentship programme) and a few months as a visitor at the University of Exeter. Finished PhD in 2011, diploma received in 2012.
2011–2012: Postdoctoral researcher at INAF - Osservatorio Astronomico di Padova, working with Dr. Bianca Poggianti and her team.
2012–2015: Moved to Chile as a FONDECYT Fellow, hosted by Dr. Ricardo Demarco at Universidad de Concepción.
2015–2018: ESO Fellowship in Santiago. Split time between research and duties as support astronomer at the Very Large Telescope (VLT) at Paranal Observatory. Served as Instrument Fellow for the integral field spectrograph MUSE.
2018–2023: Assistant Professor member at the Institute of Physics and Astronomy (IFA) of the University of Valparaíso.
2023--Present: Full professor at Department of Physics, Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María
