Dr. Singh is a Professor of English at the Indian Institute of Technology Patna, where she has worked since 2008. She began her teaching career in 2001 as an adhoc faculty member in the English Department at Patna Women's College. In 2003, she started her doctoral research at Patna University under Prof. Shanker Dutt's supervision.

In 2005, Dr. Singh received the Fulbright fellowship and worked as a Foreign Language Teaching Assistant at the University of Texas at Austin. After returning to India, she joined the faculty at Chanakya National Law University, Patna in 2006. She completed her PhD in 2007 and briefly worked as a content editor in Bangalore.

In 2008, the Jharkhand Public Service Commission selected her as a Lecturer in the English Department at Ranchi College, Ranchi University. That same year, she was appointed as Assistant Professor at IIT Patna. She has remained at IIT Patna for over fifteen years, progressing through academic ranks to become a Professor. Her career has included positions at various institutions across different locations, demonstrating broad experience in English literary studies and teaching.
