Dr. Damar Wicaksono
Damar Wicaksono received his Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering from both EPFL and ETH Zürich. Following research and industrial internships in Switzerland, he began his Ph.D. at the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI). His doctoral project, conducted jointly at EPFL and PSI, focused on quantifying uncertainty in model parameters used in thermal-hydraulic simulation codes for nuclear reactor safety assessment. The work applied methods from global sensitivity analysis, metamodeling, and Bayesian statistics. He obtained his Doctorate in Physics from EPFL in 2018.
From 2018 to 2021, Damar was a postdoctoral researcher at the [Chair of Risk, Safety and Uncertainty Quantification](https://sudret.ibk.ethz.ch) at ETH Zürich as a postdoctoral researcher. There, he contributed to the development of the UQLab platform, implementing the Gaussian process regression (Kriging) and high-performance computing (HPC) dispatcher modules. He also co-founded and moderates [UQWorld]( https://uqworld.org), an online community for applied UQ practitioners.
Since mid-2021, Damar the research group. He maintains the [Minterpy](https://github.com/minterpy-project/minterpy) package and focuses on its applications in uncertainty quantification and sensitivity analysis. He also developed [UQTestFuns](https://github.com/damar-wicaksono/uqtestfuns), an open-source library designed to support reproducible research and benchmarking in UQ.
