As you continue down the left path, you are suddenly enveloped by the sweet, sugary scent that you had noticed before. It grows stronger and stronger, until you can almost taste the candy on your tongue. You follow your nose, and soon you come across a tunnel that is lined with candy canes. They are speckled with bits of glitter and seem to emit a faint glow of their own. You can't resist the temptation and reach out to take one, only to find that it is rock hard and impossible to bite into.
As you continue down the tunnel, you start to feel a sharp pain in the soles of your feet. You look down and see that you are walking on a bed of candy cane splinters. They are sharp and jagged, and they seem to be sticking into your skin with every step. You try to move faster, hoping to get through the tunnel as quickly as possible, but the pain only gets worse.
You are faced with a choice: do you try to endure the pain and continue forward, hoping that the tunnel will lead you to something worth the suffering, or do you turn back and try to find a different path? The decision is yours.
