 Washing Machine DIY Care & Maintenance Tips (Home-Friendly)

Keep your washer clean, fresh, and running efficiently with these easy home tips.
Always unplug the machine and turn off the water supply before cleaning or inspection.

   1) How to Clean the Inside of a Washing Machine

• Once a month: Run an empty hot cycle with 2 cups of white vinegar or a washer cleaning tablet.

• Remove detergent residue: Pull out the detergent drawer, soak it in warm water, and brush off any soap buildup.

• Front-load washers: Wipe the rubber door gasket with vinegar water to remove mildew and lint.

            4)  Reinstall tightly.
  ⚠️ Clogged filters often cause “drain error” codes or standing water.

4) Check Hoses & Connections

• Inspect hot and cold inlet hoses every 6 months.

• Replace hoses if you notice bulges, cracks, or rust near fittings.

• Please tighten it slightly with pliers.— avoid overtightening.

5) Avoid Overloading

• Overloading causes imbalance, shaking, and motor strain.

• A good rule: fill the drum about ⅔ full, leaving room for water and movement.

6) Use the Right Detergent

• For HE washers, use High-Efficiency (HE) detergent only.

7) Level the Washer

• If your washer shakes or “walks” during spin, check all four leveling feet.

• Adjust until level front-to-back and side-to-side.

8) Prevent Odor & Mold

• Wipe the door seal and inside glass regularly.

• Leave the door open for air circulation.

• For strong odors, run a hot “Clean Washer” cycle with vinegar + baking soda.
