Web Task Proof helps users capture timestamped webpage screenshots, redact sensitive details, add notes, and export PDF reports. This policy explains how the extension handles information.
Information processed
When you initiate a capture, the extension processes content visible on the current webpage. A report may include screenshot images, the page title or URL, timestamps, redactions, and notes you choose to add. This information may contain personal or sensitive content, depending on the webpage you capture.
How information is used
Information is used only to create, edit, organize, and export the report requested by the user. Web Task Proof does not use captured content for advertising, profiling, credit decisions, or unrelated purposes.
Local storage
Captures, redactions, notes, settings, and report working data are stored locally on the user's device. Exported PDF files remain in the location selected by the user until the user deletes them. Removing the extension may remove extension-managed local data but does not automatically delete previously exported PDF files.
Data sharing
Web Task Proof does not sell captured content or report data. Captures and reports are not shared with third parties by the extension. Users control where exported PDF reports are saved and with whom they are shared.
Permissions
The extension uses only the browser permissions necessary to capture the user-selected page, store report data locally, and export the completed PDF. Page access occurs when the user initiates the capture workflow.
Data retention and deletion
Local report data remains until the user deletes it, clears the extension's stored data, or uninstalls the extension. Exported PDF files must be deleted separately from the device by the user.
Security
Users should review and redact sensitive details before exporting or sharing a report. No system can guarantee absolute security, so users should store exported reports appropriately.
Limited Use
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the extension's features or data practices change. The date at the top of this page will be revised when material changes are published.
