This Privacy Policy explains how PrismTag ("the Extension", "we", "us", or "our") handles your data and privacy. We believe in total data transparency and privacy-by-design.
PrismTag does not collect, store, transmit, share, or sell any personal information or user data.
Audio Files & Metadata: Any MP3 files, artwork images, or ID3 metadata text (titles, artists, albums, etc.) loaded into the extension are processed 100% locally within your browser's memory.
No Remote Servers: The extension contains no backend server, API integrations, third-party analytical trackers (such as Google Analytics or Mixpanel), or advertising networks.
Zero Telemetry: We do not track your browsing activity, download history, file names, or application usage statistics.
PrismTag adheres to the principle of least privilege:
No Elevated Permissions: The extension does not declare or request any Chrome extension permissions (permissions: []).
Local Storage & File Access: File uploads and downloads are executed entirely through standard browser DOM APIs (<input type="file">, HTML5 Canvas, and Blob Object URLs). The extension cannot access your local file system beyond the specific files you choose to open or save.
PrismTag does not utilize any third-party libraries, CDNs, or external data processors. All parsing, encoding, and compression routines run offline using native JavaScript.
Because PrismTag does not collect any personal data whatsoever, it complies fully with COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act), GDPR, and other global data privacy regulations.
If changes are made to this policy in future versions of the extension (for example, if new offline features are added), the updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.
