Prince Albert Ski League Lesson Information

2023-2024 SKI SEASON

Ski Program Offerings:

Get ready for an exciting ski season at Little Red Ski Hill. PASL is introducing a range of programs to cater to different skill levels and interests. Below, you'll find detailed descriptions of each program to help you determine the best fit for your athlete.

Learn to Ski Program:

For all new members of the ski club, regardless of their skill level, this program is designed for absolute beginners who have little to no experience on the ski hill. We offer three to four super-basic lessons to get kids started. We encourage the presence of a capable parent or guardian during these lessons to provide physical support when needed. The lessons will cover essential skills such as using the tow rope, basic stopping and starting techniques, and snowplowing. Once our coaches believe your child is ready, they'll be integrated into our scheduled Monday lessons, and you'll receive an email with further information. Our goal is to ensure that new athletes feel comfortable navigating the hill. These introductory lessons are generously offered by our dedicated volunteer coaches, aiming to fast-track the learning process, so kids can start skiing confidently right from the beginning. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to parents and guardians for their invaluable assistance.

FUNdamentalz Program:

Designed for entry-level Freestyle skiers, FUNdamentalz is packed with fun games and drills. Participants should be 6 years or older, have prior skiing experience, and be able to use the tow rope unassisted.

FREESTYLERZ Program:

Focused on building fundamental sport skills for skiers with basic skills in place, this program covers various athletic practices, focusing on building fundamental sport skills. Athletes will learn about warm-up, strength, agility, and more. Minimum age: 6 years.

FREESTYLERZ Plus Program:

For athletes with advanced freestyle skills, this program is designed to prepare them for competitive freestyle skiing. FREESTYLE SK aims to host three in-province competitions this year in North Battleford, Assinippi, and a hybrid competition between Saskatoon and Prince Albert Ski League. We'll focus on honing our skills for these events. Additional training opportunities may become available throughout the season, which may incur an extra charge.

**   "For FREESTYLERZ PLUS registrants, we'll set up a WhatsApp group for parents/guardians to discuss upcoming competitions and training events. Additionally, we'll create a dedicated section on our website to centralize all information related to these events."
