Global Handwashing Day 2019

October 15, 2019

Panabo Water District (PWD) and PrimeWater Panabo (PWP) proudly celebrated this year's Global Handwashing Day (GHD) in collaboration with San Vicente Elementary School (SVES) in the heart of Panabo City.

Themed "Clean Hands for All," the event brought together pupils, teachers, and employees of SVES, PWD, and PWP in a series of engaging activities focused on promoting proper handwashing practices. The participants took part in a comprehensive seven-step handwashing lecture, engaging in handwashing trivia and games, and a ceremonial demonstration of proper handwashing techniques.

Global Handwashing Day is an annual occasion aimed at raising awareness among schoolchildren and community stakeholders about the crucial role of handwashing with soap and clean water in bolstering immunity against diseases and ultimately, saving lives.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who joined our #HandHygieneforAll campaign, as your active participation underscores the significance of this essential health initiative.

This impactful Global Handwashing Activity is part of the #AmpingEskwela program by PrimeWater Panabo, a dedicated corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative launched in 2019 under the visionary leadership of BM Cristina Bonghanoy. As strong advocates of enhancing public health and education, PrimeWater Panabo wholeheartedly endorses the comprehensive Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene in Schools (WInS) Program, initiated by the Department of Education in February 2016. Through such collaborative efforts, we aim to foster a healthier and more hygienic environment within educational institutions, empowering the next generation with the knowledge and tools they need to lead healthier lives.
