For MOVE Week 2022 in Bulgaria we organised a sport event on 29 May 2022 involving rural youth from Karlovo and the villages of Dabene, Kliment and Voynyagovo.
Over 50 children and youth took part in the event on the stadium in the village of Dabene. The young people from Karlovo, Kliment and Voynyagovo cycled to the stadium where they played some sport games with their peers. The youngest participant on a bike was a girl at the age of three from the village of Voynyagovo and another girl at the age of six cycled over 25 kilometres from Kliment to Dabene and back accompanied by her parents. It is great there are parents who foster the sport and physical activities of their children.
We have ensured sport items as presents for all participants so as to encourage them to continue practicing sports.
We attracted local stakeholders for the event as the local Rotary Club ensured caps and Bulgarian flags for the participants, the chairperson of the local committee on Youth and Sport and the Head of the "Youth and Sport" Department from the Municipality of Karlovo also took part in the event.
